The Ebon Hawk

I was going to do a quicker painting for May the 4th, but I decided I want to finally start learning Blender and start incorporating a broader range of tools into my work. I've spent many years trying to limit myself to most basic brushes to emulate traditional painting experience and focus on the fundamentals. I still believe this to be the right approach for learning, but I also need to get my work closer to the industry standard to get jobs.

So I watched some Blender for beginners tutorials on Youtube, used it for modelling the towers, the ship model I got from sketchfab:

Then I had to basically make myself new brushes (which I actually enjoy doing, but it takes time), change my workflow to use more layers and blending modes instead of a pre-mixed pallette. I'm pretty slow with it at this point, but I don't hate the results.
